  If project files have been edited by the newer model version of JUDE, they cannot be edited in the older model versions.

Improvements

• Mind Map Templates
  
  • Mind Map templates are included in the JUDE installer.
  • 7 templates : 5W's and 2H's, Event Planning, Minutes, Preparation for Meeting, Reflection(KPT), SWOT Analysis, User Requirements
  • To use templates, go to [Diagram] - [Mindmap] - [Template Mindmap] and select a template file.

Fixed Bugs

• Project files edited by 2.4.x or older versions cannot be opened in version 2.5 if there is an association class under a class.
• In some cases, after cloning a package, association ends are set opposite in a class diagram of the cloned package.
• [Clone of Package] Cloning the same Package twice causes invalid model.
• In some cases, invalid models of Dependencies are generated in the deployment diagram by cloning a package.
• If there are note anchors in the diagrams under a package, invalid models are generated by cloning the package
• Statechart and activity diagrams are not cloned by cloning a package.
• In some cases, an exception occurs when searching topics in the search view and deleting the Mind Map on the structure tree.
• After adding a parent topic in a Mind Map, an exception occurs by deleting it.
• In some cases, the structure tree is expanded automatically by editing Mind Maps.
• The size of topics is not correct when loading a Mind Map, which was edited by 2.3 or older versions, as a template.
• Japanese characters are not displayed correctly in the stereotype name of [Set Icon for Stereotype] function.
• To correct invalid models, go to [Tool] - [Correct Model] - [Correct Invalid Models].

Existing Bugs

• Depend on the running environment, images in EMF format cannot be pasted directly in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  This happens in Office 2000 after applying Windows update KB896424. To paste, go to [Edit] - [Paste special] - [Enhanced Metafile] in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. If you use Office 2003, you do not encounter this problem.
• In the RTF document export function, the size of images becomes too large or too small depending on the option or the size of diagrams.
• A curve line in Mind Map will become a dashed line when you copy & paste an EMF file.
• Some of Japanese characters cannot be input in the Mind Map.
• Boundaries in Mind Map are not displayed in the EMF format.
• When editing the multiplicity of an association on diagram, it is set as a role name in some cases.

New Functions

• Cloning Package
  Cloning packages is available in the popup menu of the package on the structure tree. Models belonging to the package are also cloned.
• Editing relationships on diagram
  
  • The names of relationships (Generalization, Association, Realization, Dependency, Extend, Include, Link) can be set on popup menus.
  • The role names of associations are editable when setting on popup menu.
  • The multiplicities of associations can be edited on diagrams.

New Functions for Mind Map

• Mind Map - Style Template
  Mind Map - style template can be set at [Tool] -[Set Mindmap Style Template] in the main menu.
  Mind Map style (e.g. Topic's and Edge's colors and styles) can be saved as style templates.
• Template Mind Map
  Mind Map can be created based on the existing Mind Maps.
  To use this function, go to [Diagram] -[Mindmap] - [Template Mindmap] in the main menu.
  One of the Mind Maps in the project file will appear in the project.
  To save a Mindmap as a template file, go to [Save as Template] in the Mindmap popup menu of the Structure Tree.
• Artifact Maps
  Artifact Maps can be generated on the popup menu of the project on the structure tree.
  The artifact map includes all diagrams in the project and Hyperlinks are set from Topics in the Mindmap to each diagram.

Improvements

• Aggregation Icons
  Aggregation Icons have been added in the Association popup menu.

JUDE/Professional 2.4.5 (Feb.22, 2006)

Fixed Bugs

• Visibility of Operation Parameter Type cannot be set correctly in the Class popup menu when setting off the default visibility in the system properties.
• Actors cannot be aligned in the center by "align horizontal center".
• In the version 2.4 or later, line width of the rectangle may change when opening a project file edited in the version 2.3. or older.
• In the version 2.4 or later, an arrow of the line is not displayed when opening a project file edited in the version 2.3. or older.
• ESC key does not work in the confirmation dialog when creating a new class as an Attribute type.
• An exception occurs when dragging and dropping a Class to its self Association Class in the structure tree.
• In some cases, an exception occurs when dragging and dropping an Association Class to a diagram in the structure tree.
• An exception occurs when a Class name is editable in the structure tree and a Class diagram is created ([Diagram] - [Class Diagram] in the main menu).
• When selecting [View] - [Look&Feel] - [Windows Classic] in the main menu, [Windows Classic] is not checked when reopening the menu.

Fixed Bugs

• In some cases, line color is not set when cloning Mind Maps.

Improvement

Fixed Bugs

• Classes are not displayed in the Alias view.
• In some cases, arrowhead will be changed when opening the files edited in the old version of JUDE.
• An exception occurs when selecting a role name of an Association and press Ctrl + D.

New Functions & Improvements

• Multilingual Display
  This function allows you to display aliases (e.g. English and Japanese) on diagrams.
  • Alias can be set to models in Class & Use Case Diagrams by using the Alias Tab in the Project View.
  • To switch Name and Alias on the Diagram Editor, go to [View] - [Alias] in the main menu. Alias cannot be edited on the Diagram Editor.
  • Currently, this function can not be used for exporting RTF, HTML and Java.
  • To hide the Alias tab in the Project view, go to [Tool] - [System Properties] - [View] - [Show Alias View] (Restart JUDE to activate.)
• RTF Document Output
  An RTF document export function has been added.
  To export, go to [Tool] - [Export RTF Document] in the main menu.
• Export HTML(output diagrams)
  
  • Output of diagrams has been added to the Export HTML function.
  • To see the specification of classes, click the Class on the diagram.
• Export diagrams as EMF
  Diagrams can be exported in EMF format.

• Show Attributes/Operation from the Search View

  An option to select the OS standard dialog or Java standard dialog to print has been added in the Print Setup dialog.
• Hyperlinks
  
  • Model & Diagram Element dialog can be opened in statu quo.
  • Model or Diagram Element that is set as a Hyperlink can be selected in the Model & Diagram Element diagram when editing the Hyperlink.

Improvements for Mind Map

• Set Style to Mind Map
  The style of Mind Map, Topic, Edge, Boundary and Link can be set in the Mind Map Property View.
• Default style has been changed in the Mind Map.
• Font can be set to Topics.
• Style of the elements in Mind Map can be copied & pasted.
• Topics can be shifted by using Ctrl + left arrow, Ctrl + right arrow. Topics can be also moved to left or right of the Root Topic.
  
• Selected Topics can be deleted by using the Topic popup menu (Child Topics will be kept).
• Images specified by users can be added to Topics by using the Topic popup menu.
• Topics can be copied by RTF format.
  
• Topic resize has been improved.
• Edge custom color has been set.
  Custom color may be selected in the System Properties by going to [Tool] - [System Properties] - [Mindmap] - [Set custom color for new edge].
• Icons (e.g. face icons) have been changed or added.
• Topic font color can be copied and pasted by EMF format.

Fixed Bugs in Mind Map

• After Copying & Pasting Topics as text format in the text editor, Topics cannot be copied & pasted correctly into JUDE again.
• The order of Topics are sometimes incorrect after they are copied & pasted to other tools.
• Height of Topics are not calculated automatically.

Other Fixed Bugs

• Multiple lines appear out of rectangle.
• Project files cannot be saved after problems occur in the application. In some cases, they can be saved.
• The Inheritance Tree is not displayed after displaying the Structure Tree.
• Stereotypes of the relationships cannot be moved on to Packages.
• A part of the name is not outputted in the image when an icon notation, such as Actor, is used in the Sequence diagram.
• An exception occurs when deleting cloned Sequence diagram or Collaboration diagram in some cases.
• When an Object is displayed by icon notation, the name of the Object is displayed out of the rectangle after the stereotype of the base class is changed.
• A stereotype of the Use Case is not displayed in the center in some cases.
• Underline for the static operation of the Subsystem is not displayed.
• An exception occurs when setting color to the stereotype of "Set color for Stereotype".
• Sub Activity State is resized when the name of Activity Graph is changed.
• When images are displayed in the Diagram Editor, a part of images are not displayed because the frame of the images is white.
• When selecting multiple classes, the Popup menu of other view elements are not correct.
• The name of Object in Sequence diagram is sometimes out of rectangle.
• Interface is imported as a Class by Import Java in some cases.
• An array format (int[10]) cannot be set to the type of attributes.
• In some cases, JUDE can not be started because access to jude.log is failed after exiting JUDE.
• An exception occurs when exporting Java if a file with the same name and no write permission already exists.
• When setting true to the "derived" of the Attribute, "{derive=true}" is displayed on the Class.
• When merging Projects, the default Class Diagrams are merged into one diagram even if the names are different.
• Invalid models are generated after merging Constraints in some cases.
• Invalid models are generated after merging Projects in some cases.
• An exception occurs after executing Auto Layout when opening the Use Case Description.

• A part of the license problem in the non-supported OS has been solved.
• Diagrams are opened after editing the diagram name in the Structure Tree.
• In some cases, invalid models are generated after copying and pasting in the Sequence Diagram

• Selected area of a Note is larger than the size of the Note in some cases.
• The popup menu is not displayed in the editing area of the Use Case Description.

• Stub State can not be copied and pasted.
• Sometimes opening Hyperlinks from the Diagram Editor does not work.

• Eriksson-Penker Process Diagram
  "Process" has been added to the Activity Diagram.
  An information icon (parallelogram) is displayed when setting <<Information>> as a stereotype of ObjectFlowState.
  
• UseCase Description Template
  UseCase Description Templates can be set or selected by going to [Tool] -> [Set UseCase Description Template].
  There are three types of templates as default.
  1. Built-in Templates:

  3. RUP Style
• Timed License
  Three kinds of the timed licenses are currently available:

Improvements to Mind Map

• Link between Topics
  To create a Link between Topics, click [Link between Topics] button on the Tool Palette, and then select a source Topic and a target Topic.
• Topic Icon
  To add an Icon to a Topic, click [Add Icon] in the Topic popup menu.
• Boundary
  To add a Boundary, click [Boundary] button on the Tool Palette.
  Boundary Visibility can be set by selecting [Boundary Visibility] in the Topic popup menu.
  
• Open/Close child topics
  To open or close child topics, double-click the edge.
• Move Topics
  The operation of moving Topics by drag & drop is improved.
• Change Order of Topics
  It is available to change order of multiple Topics.
  The top Topic can be moved to the end Topic and vice versa.
• It now synchronizes Root Topic name with Mind Map name when editing the Root Topic name.
  To set, go to System Properties. [Tool] -> [System Properties] -> [Base] -> [Synchronize Root Topic name to Mind map name].
• Font Color
  To set Font color, click [Set Font Color] in the Topic popup menu.
• Line Color
  To set the same line color to the child Topics, check [Set the same color to child Topics] on the Mind Map Property View.
• Background Color
  The background color of the line style Topics can be set.
• Convert UML Models to Topic
  When dragging elements from the Structure Tree to the Mind Map, they will be converted to Topics.
• Convert Topics to UML Models (Note)
  To convert from Topic to Note, drag Topic from the Structure Tree to the Diagram Editor, and then select [Note] on the Convert UML Model dialog.
• Add Parent Topic
  To add a parent Topic, select a Topic then press Shift + Insert key.
• Add Brother Topic Upward
  To add a Brother Topic upward, select a Topic and press Shift + Enter key.
• Convert tab delimited strings to Topics
  When copying and pasting the tab delimited strings to the Mind Map, they will be converted to Child Topics.
• Drawing performance has been improved.
  

Other Improvements

• Hyperlink Icon
  Hyperlink Icon is displayed on the Diagram Editor when setting the Hyperlinks.
  • To jump to the Hyperlink, double-click the Hyperlink Icon.
  • To show the list of Hyperlink, right-mouse click on the Hyperlink Icon.
• The font in the EMF format has been improved
  
• Black has been added to the Color Chooser Dialog.
  
• Direct Input has been improved so when selecting the input items, such as names, they can be inputted directly.
  
• Use F2 to edit names of elements on the Structure Tree and Inheritance Tree.
  
• The elements on Structure Tree and Inheritance Tree can be deleted by using Ctrl + D.
  

• Model version is displayed in the version information dialog. [Help] -> [Version Information].

  • Hyperlink can be set as files, URLs, Models and View Element in the Project.
  • Hyperlink can be set the following elements: Class, UseCase, Actor, Package, Subsystem, Model, Entity, Boundary, Control, Object, ActionState, State, Component, Classifier, Artifact, Node.
  • To set the hyperlink, select [Hyperlink]-[Edit Hyperlink] in Popup Menu on Diagram or on Structure Tree.
• Association Class
  To create Association Class, open Class Diagram, then click Association Class icon on Tool Pallet. Then, Click two classes one by one.
• Constraint(Attribute, Method, Association, Role, Generalization, Realization, Dependency, Message)
  
  • Add Constraint of Attribute, Method, Association, Role, Generalization, Realization, Dependency, Message in Constraint Tab of Property View.
  • Add Constraint of Association, Role, Generalization, Realization, Dependency, Message by [Add Constraint] in Popup Menu.
• SubactivityState
  To create SubactivityState, drag an Activity Diagram icon on Structure Tree to another Activity Diagram on Diagram Editor.
• Jump from Search View to Diagram Editor/Structure Tree
  
  • To show an element on a diagram, select a diagram of [All Related Diagrams] in the Popup Menu of the search result.
  • To jump to the Structure Tree, select [Show in Structure Tree] in the Popup Menu of the search result.
• Delete from Diagram View/Jump from Diagram View to Structure Tree
  
  • To delete a diagram on Diagram View, select [Delete] in the diagram's Popup Menu.
  • To jump to the Structure Tree, select [Show in Structure Tree] in the diagrams' Popup Menu.
• Jump from Diagram Editor to Structure Tree.
  Select "Show In Structure Tree" in Popup Menu of Diagram. It will select the diagram on Structure Tree.
• Customized Icon (Object, ActivityState, UseCase, Node, Component, Classifier, Artifact, Association Class)
  Customized Icon is add to Object, ActivityState, UseCase, Node, Component, Classifier, Artifact and Association Class.
• CreateMessage and DestroyMessage for BranchMessage
  To create CreateMessage and DestroyMessage for Branch Message, select [Branch Message]-[Create Message]/[Destroy Message] in Message Popup Menu.
• Clone Diagram
  
  • To clone Diagram, select [Clone] in Diagram Popup Menu on Structure Tree.
  • It is the same function to Copy & Paste all elements on Diagram.
  • Models (eg. Class, UseCase) are shared in both diagrams.
• Open file by drag & drop .jude file
  To open a project file(.jude), drag & drop it on JUDE window.
• Visibility of Association name
  To show/hide Association name, select [Name Visibility] in Association Popup Menu.
• Visibility of Object stereotype
  To show/hide Object stereotype, select [Stereotype Visibility] in Object Popup Menu.
• Export obfuscated XMI file
  
  • Export obfuscated XMI file. (eg. Class1 is transformed Element1)
  • To report a bug, send an obfuscated XMI file to analyze the project file. It will protect your information.
  • Set [Tool] - [System Properties] - [File] - [Export obfuscated XMI file]

• Merge Dialog
  • Easy Merge : Select the working project or the imported project to keep element.
  • Flexible Merge : Set detail conditions to merge the project.
• Attribute initial value
  
  • Attribute initial value will be abbreviated.
  • Set to abbreviate or not in [Tool] - [System Properties] - [Base] - [Show Long Attribute Initial Value].
• Horizontal/Vertical Line
  Press Shift as creating or modifying Line. It will create or modify a horizontal/vertical line.
• Popup Menu for plural Objects are added.

Fixed Bugs

• Autoresize Object : Calculate a length of stereotype.
• After merging projects, the position of <> is wrong.
• The position of CreateMessage (Arrow) is wrong after opening a file and move some elements on Sequence diagram.
• Cannot move elements on diagrams by editing a right angle line.
• A content of UseCase Description cannot be printed in some environment.
• Stereotype disappears by direct editing of Attribute in Subsystem or Qualifier in Association.
• Exception by delete from diagram when creating ComponentInstance or Object on Node, NodeInstance, Component or ComponentInstance.
• Can't open .JUDE file.
• To edit a text, only a part of the text is shown in the scale-down diagram.
• The Class visibility cannot be cloned.
