Attention

XMI files generated by JUDE/Professional3.0 or older cannot be loaded. Project files (.jude) generated by older versions can be loaded.

JUDE/Professional 3.2 (February 28th, 2007)

  If project files have been edited by the newer model version of JUDE, they cannot be edited in the older model versions.
• To load project files with ER models generated by 3.2 beta version, please save as XMI project in beta version, then open it in version 3.2.
  The project files (.jude) cannot be loaded directly.

New functions

• ER Diagram has been added
  Notations (IDEF1X or IE) and Mode (Logical or Physical) can be switched in the Property View of ER Diagram.
  To set the default of them, go to [Tool] - [System Properties] - [ER Diagram]
• Split Topics to a new Mind Map
  [Split Topic to a new Mind Map] menu has been added on Topic's Pop-Up Menu that will create a new mind map with the selected topic as a root topic.
• Transfer Messages by dragging
  The starting point of message can be dragged to another lifeline to replace.
• Automatic Return Message Mode
  [Automatic Return Message Mode] has been added on Tool bar of the Sequence Diagram Window.
  Reply messages are created automatically for each message when this mode is on.
• JUDE API
  JUDE API for Sequence and Activity diagrams is added. Please refer to API User Guide for detail. Go to [start] in Windows - [Program] - [JUDE Professional] - [API User Guide]

Fixed Bugs

• In Mind Map, Topics contain double quotations (full size) are overlapped after new line.[2200]
• When resizing Note to minimal size, the position is changed.[2174]
• Hyperlink cannot be opened when full size space is included in the directly name or file name of Hyperlink.[2151]
• Mind Map that includes "#" either in its Root Topic or the project file name cannot be exported to RTF.[2136]
• Multiple diagrams cannot be saved as image files.[2114]
• Improve the movement of text, rectangle, note, line, image in Partitions of Activity diagram.[2117]

New Functions in Mind Map

• Name of a Link line between topics
  You can name the link line between topics.
• Show Mind Map at the center
  This option will show a Root Topic at the center when opening a diagram. [Default On]
  ([Mindmap] - [Show Root Topic at the center when opening a diagram] in the system properties)

Improvements

• Project View Window Size
  Width of the Project View will be restored when starting JUDE or showing/hiding the Project View.
• Update System Properties
  When updating some of options in the system properties, it will reflect on the diagram editor directly. (e.g. Grid visibility)
• Association on Structure Tree
  Association icons will be displayed on the structure tree.

Fixed Bugs

• Selecting [Save as] the project file always brings up the directory that is used before.[1871]
• Saving project files in directory that does not exist will create an unnecessary directory. (In case deleting the directory with Explore while holding the pop-up of file chooser to save project files with the directory.)[1867]
• When creating lost messages from onto the frame line, the lost message lines will not appear properly.
• There is no [Show in Structure Tree] menu on pop-up menu of Component element.[1857]

• Template Mind Map
  Mind Map is named with the template Mind Map name + incremental number when loading a template Mind Map.

Fixed Bugs

• When Package names contain a period(.), Namespaces cannot be displayed properly in dropdown list in Property View, such as Base classes in Sequence Diagram or other Diagrams.
• Project files (.jude) which name contains a period(.) other than .jude cannot be read by Drag & Drop.
• When inputting the project files that was XMI outputted once before and also contain the elements that have "%" in the element name, they cannot be read properly.
• UseCase Descriptions cannot be copied when cloning Packages.
• No popup menus of Components and Artifacts is shown up in Structure Tree.
• In Activity Diagrams, when selecting a Subsystem for Base class of the ObjectFlowState, Stereotypes of the Subsystems would not be displayed automatically in the Object.
• Input in UseCase Descriptions are not defined in some cases.
• When exporting RTF Documents even though it is set not to export association classes, they get exported.
• When exporting RTF Documents even though it is checked on [Output the first 3lines of definition in the list], more than 3lines get exported.
• When exporting RTF Documents, Images in Classes or under UseCases cannot be exported.
• An exception occurs occasionally when deleting Submachinestate.
• In the property View of Attributes, invalid letters are included in the list of Stereotype names.
• Invalid Models are created when doing undo after copying notes and note anchors.

• File Separators depending on platform are used in some parts.

• An exception occurs when setting less than or equal to 0 to the font size of Topics and Texts and so on.
• An option to open a RTF document automatically is not working on MacOS.

Fixed Bugs in Mind Map

• Invalid models are created when importing Template Mind Maps and undoing.
• The option of [Convert to UML Model] is not in the popup menu for topics in the Structure Tree.
• To convert Topics to UML models, Topics on the structure tree can not be dragged to the diagram editor such as Class Diagram.
• Menus to convert to UML models on the popup menu of Topic on the structure tree are not included.
• The structure tree is not displayed correctly when dragging and dropping Topics on it.

Existing Bugs

• Depend on the running environment, images in EMF format cannot be pasted directly in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  This happens in Office 2000 after applying Windows update KB896424. To paste, go to [Edit] - [Paste special] - [Enhanced Metafile] in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. If you use Office 2003, you do not encounter this problem.
• In the RTF document export function, the size of images becomes too large or too small depending on the option or the size of diagrams.
  
• A curve line in Mind Map will become a dashed line when you copy & paste an EMF file.
• Some of Japanese characters cannot be input in the Mind Map.
• Boundaries in Mind Map are not displayed in the EMF format.

• JUDE API Release
  JavaAPI that obtain main model information of Class Diagrams and UseCase Diagrams has been released. Please refer to API User Guide for detail.
  Go to [start] in Windows - [Program] - [JUDE Professional] - [API User Guide]
• Convert AssociationClass to Class or Association
  AssociationClass can be converted to Class or Association.
  To convert AssociationClass, go to [Convert to Class]/[Convert to Association] in the popup menu of AssociationClass.
• Drag & Drop of Files
  Drag & Drop for Image files, .jude Files and others are now supported.
  • When you Drag & Drop files, you can choose an option for how to take them in as Images or use them as Hyperlinks for Models or Model elements..etc.
  • This new function can be set On/Off in System Properties. [Tool] - [System Properties] - [Others] - [Show a dialog to select an action when drag & drop a file]. If this box is not checked on, Drag&Drop Files would be operated in default setting.
• Pasting images from Clipboard onto Diagrams
  Now it is able to paste images from Clipboard by selecting [Paste].
• Saving Projects
  When saving a new project at first time, the project file would be saved with the name of the first diagram as the project file name.
• Setting Customized Icon for Object Nodes
  It is now able to set the Customized Icon for Object Nodes.
  • To set the Customized Icons, select stereotype and its Classifier in Property View for the Project and choose the customized icon.
  • Set Stereotype for Object Node in Activity Diagram.
  • Select [Set Customized Icon] from the popup menu of the Object Node.
• RTF Document (Mind Map)
  Now it is able to export Mind Map to RTF Document.
• Reading and saving JUDE/Think! Files
  • Mind Maps you created with JUDE/Professional can be saved as JUDE/Think! Files. (.juth)
  • Mind Maps you created with JUDE/Think! (.juth file) can be read with JUDE/Professional3.0.
• Adding continuously Attributes and Operations with Enter Key
  After creating Attributes, Operations of Class, and Operations of SubSystem on Diagram Editor, you can add continuously more of them by just pressing Enter Key.
• Display and Edit of Namespaces of Attribute
  In case you select a class for Attribute Type of a Class, its name and Namespace are displayed in Attributes Property View. By editing the Namespace in Property View in Attribute you can change the type class, or create a new one.
• Association buttons changed into Dropdown Buttons
  Association buttons on the tool palette in UseCase Diagram, Class Diagram, Deployment Diagram have been changed into dropdown style buttons. Now you can choose the type of Association using these dropdown buttons.
• Fork (Fork Node), Join (Join Node) buttons changed into Dropdown Buttons.
  Fork and Join buttons on the tool palette in Statechart Diagram and Fork Node and Join Node buttons in Activity Diagram have been changed into Dropdown style buttons. Now you can choose the Horizon one or Vertical using these dropdown buttons.
• Rubber band of Relations
  Rubber band of Relations are displayed including names and other attached elements by dragging them.
• Display of UseCase Description in Structure Tree
  UseCase Description are displayed under UseCase in the Structure Tree when its created.
• Print Multi-UseCase Description
  • When you print Multi-UseCase Description, only UseCases contain UseCase Descriptions are displayed as a list on [UseCase Description dialog] to select which one to print before starts printing.
  • When you print Multi-UseCase Description, total page numbers of printed documents are all page numbers of printed UseCase Descriptions.
• Creating new Messages in Sequence Diagram
  When creating new Messages in Sequence Diagram, the range of Lifeline can be selected is wider. Now it is easier to create new messages.
• Size of Action
  The size of Action is smaller than before.
• Full screen of Diagram Editor

New Functions on Mind Map

• Open/Close Topics
  • Now the capacity of Open/Close Topics by double-clicking is bigger. It is easier to Open/Close Topics.
  • While opening/closing topics, the sand clock is displayed.
• Selecting Topics
  By double-clicking a topic in Structure Tree, the whole Mind Map would be moved and the selected topic would be placed to be a center in Diagram Editor.
• Adding Topics by Drag & Drop from the Structure Tree to Diagram Editor
  You can add a new topic by doing Drag & Drop from the Structure Tree to the Mind Map in Diagram Editor.
• Importing Template Mind Map
  The name of Mind Map that created by importing Template Mind Map will be shown as "name of the imported Mind Map Template + number".
• Adding new buttons for Mind Map on Toolbar
  New buttons for Mind Map are added. ; "Add Icon", "Open or Close Topic", and "Topic Style (Fork, Bubble)".

Fixed Bugs

• When Package names contain a period(.), Namespaces cannot be displayed properly in dropdown list in Property View, such as Base classes in Sequence Diagram or other Diagrams.
• Project files (.jude) which name contains a period(.) other than .jude cannot be read by Drag & Drop.
• When inputting the project files that was XMI outputted once before and also contain the elements that have "%" in the element name, they cannot be read properly.
• Interfaces cannot be nested onto Nodes dragging & dropping it from the Structure Tree to the Deployment Diagram (Diagram Editor).
• Memories is not released after cloning Diagrams or Models and closing the project.
• UseCase Descriptions cannot be copied when cloning Packages.
• When cloning Packages that contain Stereotype, stereotypes would be created double.
• An exception occurs when selecting a new class for Return Value of Operation in Subsystems.
• Attributes can be added with [Ctrl+F] for Subsystems.
• No popup menus of Components and Artifacts is shown up in Structure Tree.
• An exception occurs occasionally when dragging the ExecutionSpecifications (Activations) that contain Reply (return) Messages.
• In some cases, what you typed would be set in the Role name when editing a Multiplicity of Associations directly in Diagram Editor.
• In Activity Diagrams, when selecting a Subsystem for Base class of the ObjectNode, Stereotypes of the Subsystems would not be displayed automatically in the Object.
• Input in UseCase Descriptions are not defined in some cases.
• When exporting new RTF Documents, previously created diagrams are exported occasionally.
• When exporting RTF Documents even though it is set not to export association classes, they get exported.
• When exporting RTF Documents even though it is checked on [Output the first 3lines of definition in the list], more than 3lines get exported.
• When exporting RTF Documents and any Japanese are contained in the file name, [Insert diagram image's link in document exported] cannot work properly.
• When exporting RTF Documents, Images in Classes or under UseCases cannot be exported.
• An exception occurs occasionally when deleting Submachinestate.
• In the property View of Attributes, invalid letters are included in the list of Stereotype names.
• Invalid Models are created when doing undo after copying notes and note anchors.

• File Separators depending on platform are used in some parts.
• << reside >> Stereotypes always get added automatically when making Dependency from Components to Interfaces.
• When moving messages in Sequence Diagram, unselected messages also move at the same time in some cases.
• Importing file images fails when the image file contains :(colon) in the file name.
• After opening and closing diagram editors repeatedly, unused objects are not released in some cases.

Fixed Bugs in Mind Map

• Invalid models are created when importing Template Mind Maps and undoing.
• The option of [Convert to UML Model] is not in the popup menu for topics in the Structure Tree.
