Starting JUDE / Creating a Project

Starting JUDE

  • Double click the JUDE icon on the Desktop.
  • Select JUDE on the Start menu.
  • Double click a JUDE file(.jude).
  • Double click the jude-xxxx.jar file in Explorer.

Creating a Project

  • Click on Tool bar.


  • Select [File]-[New].

To open a Diagram

  • Select [Diagram].


  • Click on [Package Name]-[Create Diagram].

Viewing in JUDE


Management View
The Management View provides the file operations and enables editing in JUDE.
Project View
The Management View provides the Structure Tree, the Inheritance Tree, the Map View, the Diagram List, and Search and Replace.
  • Structure Tree
    The Structure Tree manages the structure of models. You can create models from the popup menu of each element in the Tree.

  • Inheritance Tree
    The inheritance Tree displays the inheritance structure.
  • Map View
    The Map View displays an entire Diagram Editor. You can change the view in the Diagram Editor by moving the rectangle or changing the size of the rectangle. See Map View.

  • Diagram List
    The Diagram List shows a list of Diagrams in the project.
    You can open Diagrams from here.
  • Search and Replace
    You can search for models in the project, and replace strings in models.

Property View
The Property View allows you to edit Model elements. Select a model in a Tree or a Diagram to open the Property View.
Diagram Editor
The Diagram Editor is used to edit Diagrams. You can open multiple Diagrams and navigate between them using tabs.
