I would like to add one comment - we need this to work on linux or we can't use it. So far it looks like it wasn't tested on linux and we can't get it to run. It's too bad. |

Stability, simplicity, provide UML/Java development support without forcing me to do things a specific way. Your product in the past has been awesome.
However your licensing is confusing. Is the price something I have to pay each year if I don't need support? Once I buy a version can I just continue to > use
it forever without paying more?
Answer
Once you purchase a JUDE/Professional User License, you can use JUDE/Professional permanently without paying. Support renewal fee would be required only if
you need a support after your first free support period expires. Support Renewal License is a license to extend your support period for one more year. And by purchasing a
support renewal license, you can receive free software updates including bug fixes and always have access to work with the latest version of JUDE/Professional..etc.
For more detail about Support Renewal License, check out here.

JUDE is nice and easy. You may not even know UML and start making architectural design
or brief project description for teammates at once. This is cool. In the agile world that's the
tool we need. |

Mind Maps + UML = Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you think in designing your own Methodology or Paradigm
of software development? |
| 2006.08.09 |
  |
1) A plugin interface would be nice. I would like to use
this in order to connect certain diagram elements to external entities such
as files or classes (Hyperlinks must always be created manually.) and also to
create such entities as soon as model elements are created (Simple UDP Messages
might be enough.). The reason is that I regularly have to "manually" bridge
the gap between my models and implementation entities (which are not java
classes). The API you provided is one very nice step towards this, but using
this I always have to synchronize the whole model and still don't get the
implementation "on click"...
2) Generic attributes on model elements (Just a list plain "key=value" pairs
(even better:also key="model element") would help a lot in the process of code
generation because UML does not see to all ends yet...
3) Another nice feature would be the ability to use "shared" model repositories
(For example, I would like to derive a class from a model stored in a different
JUDE project file).
In Version 3.0, grid lines sometimes are painted over the diagram elements (So
they look like they are in "jail").
Answer
Thank you for your report! We will check out about the grid lines painted over the elements. |

It will be nice to have some code generation at least for Java, maybe the language as Plugin. thanks a lot for making the product available for download. |
| 2006.08.04 |
  |
As I work SW analyst I would like to see possibility to generate various
(definition) documents from UML models, as they are required by customers. As you have added
API for JUDE I grew really excited, because this might pave the way for some fancy but still
robust reporting facility for JUDE. |

I hope there will be the version for Chinese.
Answer
A Chinese version is available from here. |

I request two useful enhancements:
1. Ability in state diagrams to use spread across multiple lines the
event/guard/action annotation on transitions.
2. C++ code or C round trip engineering. (useful for embedded applications) |
| 2006.07.18 |
 |
High quality code generation. |
| 2006.07.18 |
  |
Great tool.
* Please add support for JDK5.0
* It would be nice to edit notes in the property view for more selections, e.g. topics in mindmaps - like usecases in an usecase diagram
* Add a 'refresh' to the content menu of classes
* Add a 'open file' to the content menu of classes
* To set visibility in class diagrams you have to use the context menu for each setting...
better way: use property view, add a tab 'Visibility' |
| 2006.07.18 |
 |
JUDE is very a good valuable software, keep up the good work! |
| 2006.07.18 |
 |
Your software is so good that I feel guilty observing people to use other UML tools. Please do your best replace them, thanks. |
| 2006.07.15 |

Just keep it simple, and add some shape in order to better express system architecture. |
| 2006.07.14 |

Expect to improve a way to document the steps of sequence diagrams, and print
them out with diagrams and a way to print a report for class diagrams of all the
classes and their associated methods and attribute descriptions in a summary (like javadoc)
way to view them.

I have been using UML modeling tools for quite sometime and have gone
through most of the products available in the market.
I found JUDE to be the best of the lot and supports all the UML features
and is easy to use and organize models. A great product, the team has done a good job :) |

 |
Please implement JDK 1.5 support :-) |
| 2006.06.17 |
  |
Thanks for giving us the opportunity to use a tool that I considered a very good. I
expect that JUDE will have a possibility to generate a code of programming and vice-versa. |
| 2006.06.17 |
 |
Request - The major reason most of the software developers I work with do not use
JUDE is because the PNG/JPEG export feature will only export one size of the diagram.
Most developers (including myself) would prefer to export the PNG in a smaller size.
So I request an ability to save PNG diagrams in different sizes/zoom. |
| 2006.06.16 |
  |
Thanks for programming!! I would like to have a nice MAC version :). |

 |
I wish that the JUDE/Community doesn't stop and grow more and more, with interest and big ideas for UML. |
| 2006.06.01 |
  |
Very simple, yet powerful. I can finally focus on modelling with JUDE. Graphical operations (dragging, resizing etc.)
work perfectly - no latency, no unexpected behavior. I would like JUDE to provide features that help modelling, not
coding - I do not need code generator, reverse engineering etc. I want to visualize a problem from business and technical
perspective. And when you mouse over an artifact it would be good to see its 'definition' - some cloud like tooltip.

The JUDE file format makes it hard for me to use this tool in larger
corporate environments, where other people are resilient to introducing
a propriety file format.

I thought the professional edition was free... |

Thank you for continuing to make the community edition freely available. |

Better support for XMI export/import to be interoperable with others
UML tools (yes, you may win more users if you support other vendors).
Java import/export in the Community Edition.

Thank you for providing this wonderful tool. |

A student is not supposed to spend money on tools. That's why these free ones,
like JUDE, are so important. You should keep doing that, because if someday i
decide to buy for professional uses, it will be the one I'd already known.

Thanks for your work. I enjoy the tool. I'm trying to get my employer to
buy professional licenses for the team.

I don't intend to use JUDE for fully detailed UML diagrams, but the early
versions I tried were incredibly useful for getting down a design in a quick
and easy fashion (though could still have had some improved usability).

It would be nice to have a version working as an Eclipse Plugin. |

The java programmers will die of starvation. "Keep up the good work!!! And free! |

I would move to the professional if it was integrated with at least Eclipse for
Java and C++; I only use JUDE currently to generate documentation.

Is there any road for JUDE on Eclipse IDE?
Answer
At the moment there is no roads for JUDE on Eclipse IDE. We will consider supporting it in the future.

Hardly beginning to explore JUDE and I create by the references that I have found

Because it is free, I expect it will be fundamental for my course. Helping me to
learn UML. Lots of people need it too. So thanks very much.

Thanks for providing a free Community version. |

Request: C++ support, do not save properties and log files
in $HOME ... something like $HOME/.jude/ would be nicer.

Thanks for your spirits of SE and efforts. Make your
products for the developer, listen the requirement from them
and provide new futures like code-autogeneration.

Best of the best. |

Good job, JUDE is the best. |

Irrespective whether the software is java based or not, it should
support c++ and c# data types for class modeling!

Thanks for the great software, really complete and easy to use. |

I haven't used JUDE in a while, but the reason I keep coming
back to it is simplicity, we have access to enterprise architect,
ibm/rational packages, several eclipse tools - but JUDE has always
been simple and reliable - round trip engineering would probably
make it the tool of choice.

 |
This is an excellent tool for applying UML. Keep up the good work. |
| 2006.02.24 |
  |
My problem with the software is the situation, that two people work on many
diagrams in the same project, but we can't do export and import of a single
diagram to retrieve the changes.
|
| 2006.02.24 |
 |
I'm expecting the features of reverse engineering of classes, relationships and delphi and java codes.

Please make UML 2.0 as standard in every product!! |

I would like to import JAVA code for analysis and documentation
purposes - but cannot do it as the application was written in
JAVA 1.5.

JUDE rocks! JUDE is faster, more intuitive, and much more stable
than others ... and I say all of this as a user of the free version.
Thanks for this great piece of software.

Good Work... At any time I check your website for new versions or other
I'm very satisfied. Site usability seems very Good, then Your product
(JUDE UML) is probably the better choice for any people who study in my
faculty. I hope in the future you will disclose a little jar containing
API for drawing some little block diagrams, this will leads to a standard affirmation.

UI for importing Java classes needs a complete rewrite and support
re-import of existing UML elements without deleting them from the
current diagrams. (mainly to get the new associations in sync)
