2008.12.4 Could improve diagram object selection, dragging and placement as it is as not good as some other tools, and requires more effort at times. Cannot currently copy and paste a whole diagram from the windows clipboard between two running versions of JUDE? [Com]
2008.11.20 It's a good tool, because it builds an entire UML diagram project in an easy way. [Pro]
2008.11.12 I've been using JUDE since about 2005 and it's the best free tool out there. I'm working on getting my company to buy the pro version. [Com]
2008.11.2 I would like to have a mode to document "software architecture", with less consistency check and mode drawing freedom. [Com]
2008.10.29 I've been using JUDE Community Edition for more than 1 year. I think it is a great tool. I was waiting for fragment notation in Sequence Diagrams and I already have it in version 5.4. I'm considering getting the PRO version. [Com]
2008.10.29 I find the user interface a little cumbersome, in a non-standard way. Things are sometimes not where one would expect, and the GUI looks a little 'old'. I think JUDE needs some revamping. It is very hard to create many attributes for a class by hand, for instance - too many clicks for such a simple thing. [Com]
2008.10.29 I am pleased that you've finally decided to support Java 5 features (especially generics), like I told you on the mailing list long, long time ago. I work at the university and I know what my students need to fulfill their assignments. Remember to listen to your users more carefully. [Com]
2008.10.28 JUDE looks nice for sketching. As I am not a java developer, I'm unable to say anything about exporting/importing to/from Java, which might be the most interesting component of JUDE. Maybe expanding to other programming languages could be a great goal. [Com]
2008.10.27 We will see how JUDE evolves. The other tool provides UML 2 support for longer time now compared to JUDE. This is why I didn't use JUDE very often and why I started to convert the models/diagrams from JUDE to other tool. [Com]
2008.10.23 JUDE is a great tool that works on different platforms like windows, Linux debian etc. [Com]
2008.10.22 I hope it will always be good cooperate with JAVA. [Com]
2008.10.12 Shortcut use is great, as the possibility to use color in the diagrams, and export to SVG. :-) [Com]
2008.10.9 Really nice and simple tool, have used a lot during creation technical documentation and reverse engineering. Thank you for creating such nice and useful application.
2008.10.6 JUDE could be distributed in another languages.[Com]
2008.10.3 I like the interface. It's easy to make UMLs compared to the other free UML tools I have tried so far. In addition to that, the diagrams also look neat and professional.[Com]
2008.9.26 I'm extremely impressed with JUDE. It works well, is easy to use, and generates excellent diagrams. Well done!
2008.9.22 JUDE is a completely tool for developing analysis and design.
2008.9.21 JUDE is the best tool for me. I don't look for automatic code generation functionality in UML tools or similar functionality. I just want to draw diagrams and JUDE offers a very efficient tool for this purpose. In my opinion, the purpose of UML is communicating and understanding. UML isn't for automatic code generation or other miraculous functionality provided for other tools. JUDE is fast, light and minimal.
2008.8.31 The export funktion is very good.
2008.8.26 JUDE has been easier to use than other products that my company has purchased. I have found the look and feel very easy to learn and use. I have enjoyed using and have asked that it becomes a part of my company's downloadable products.
2008.8.21 I'm a Linux user now... so... could be portable.
2008.8.16 Would like the ability to use classes from popular libraries such as J2SE, Spring, Hibernate, etc.
2008.8.12 More functionality in the community version of JUDE.
2008.8.5 It is the best free devise to learn and modeling UML.
2008.7.25 I think you have a good diagram editor, and I'm wondering if you could use it for additional "free diagram" mode. Sometimes I need to prepare diagram which cannot be classified as class diagram, use-case or another, just free, simple diagram. I've tried other tool, but it's buggy (few crashes for few minutes - from 2.3 to newest version). I think your editor is more friendly. Another thing is to add 'group/ungroup' possibility for diagram elements - I miss it very much.
2008.7.13 Looks nice in the screenshots. [Pro]
Answer: Thank you. Screenshots are available at JUDE Sample Model page.
2008.7.12 It's very stable! Do not grow in others senses without maintain this aspect. [Com]
2008.7.11 .NET support! Export diagram to image. [Pro]
Answer: You are able to export diagrams to image files (PNG, JPEG or EMF).
See detail at Features in JUDE/Professional and [Tips] Save as Image.
2008.7.10 There are a lot of full-featured UML tools. If I need them - I will use them. However JUDE is my best choice for rapid prototyping/visualizing and requirements/use-case definition. [Com]
2008.6.23 I like this tool, I think it offers a good service by a small price. [Com]
2008.6.21 Make it a bit cheaper so I can buy the Professional edition! [Com]
2008.6.17 JUDE is an easy manipulation software. [Pro]
2008.6.17 JUDE is a tool that the students like for development. [Pro]
2008.6.13 A version in brazilian portuguese!
Answer: GUI in JUDE/Community can be displayed in Portuguese. See the [Tips] JUDE GUI Localization.
2008.6.11 Use of generic clipboard(Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V) thus enabling developers to copy paste from one jude window to another. Although for user look and feel this might be disastrous to those who are already used to the Ctrl+Alt+C stuff.[Com]
2008.6.9 Import class diagrams from Microsoft C#. Give guidance on whether an update requires that the existing installation be uninstalled first.[Pro]
2008.6.8 We need a package installer for MacOSX. We need UML2 support on the Community edition.[Com]
Answer: The JUDE installer (ver 5.3) designated for Mac OS X is available on JUDE Community Site "JUDE 5.3 for Mac OS X".
2008.6.8 I think that it is a good tool for UML diagrams, because many friends recommended it.[Com]
2008.6.7 Would be nice to see code generation in other programming languages such as C++ and C#.[Com]
Answer: Exporting C# code is available in JUDE/Professional (since ver 5.3).
2008.6.3 An Eclipse plugin please! Hurry up.[Com]
2008.6.1 JUDE is the best program for modeling that I have ever used.[Com]
2008.5.31 I want to say that "JUDE" is a "complete product" for me. [Com]
2008.5.29 Need the reverse engineering.[Com]
Answer: Both JUDE/Professional and JUDE/Community support the reverse engineering of Java source. See "[Tips] Import Java" on JUDE Community Site. Also exporting C# code is available in JUDE/Professional (since ver 5.3).
2008.5.22 I only hope it has better integration between diagrams than other open-source alternatives (through the Ubuntu community)[Com]
2008.5.20 JUDE/Community with UML2.0 [Com]
2008.5.17 To me... JUDE is perfect, but we know everything in this world has to increase always! [Pro] [Pro]
2008.5.15 Congratulations on creating this excellent tool! [Com]
2008.5.15 I might give one or two, if only your download site will let me download it without putting me in endless loop again and again on the very same pages that i have already been to. [Com]
2008.5.13 JUDE is the only UML tool I've some across which tries to be faithful the any UML standard. The commercial implementations are all lowered qualities to tie in with the "vendor stack".[Com]
2008.5.2 Well, I think that you are in good way, keep working, because you are helping many developers around the world. Thank you for your job!!!! [Pro]
2008.4.24 Excellent work! The tour is great for starters: Tutorial: Learn UML with JUDE
2008.4.23 It would be nice if the community version included the possibility of using templates. [Com]
2008.4.16 The Pro version seems faster, which is nice. We had to have merge capability and were pleased with your pricing.
2008.4.9 Exporting C# code is available in JUDE/Professional (since ver 5.3). Regarding to the ability of reverse engineering other languages, technically it is able to do it by using the edit function of JUDE API we currently provide with JUDE/Professional.
2008.4.7 It's really a good tool. But may be (in the future) it generates code for more languages than Java. MS Visio 2000, for sample, generates for Java, C++ and Visual Basic. I know Java is the "fashion one", but at least in Brazil we can see a gradual decreasing in this situation.
2008.4.4 I like it and recommend it. We use it with students in lectures. Integration in Eclipse would be cool.
2008.4.2 Please support Linux 32 and 64 bit, our entire development environment is on Linux.
2008.3.29 It's a very flexible and excelent tool.
2008.3.27 Keep on doing good Japanese software.
2008.3.26 This is a wonderful tool - easy to use, great for putting together a visual representation of system intent.
2008.3.25 What is difference between JUDE/Professional and JUDE/Community?
Answer: See the comparative table at Specifications page.
2008.3.25 JUDE is a great tool that will help a lot of programers in softwares development.
2008.3.22 You're doing a great job with this, just keep the path.
2008.3.20 It looks nice and most important it is pretty easy to use!
2008.3.19 It would be nice if some model elements (at least the ones that can show up in a UseCase diagram) could have multiple descriptions in multiple languages. Also the rationale is that UseCase diagrams can be used to effectively communicate with end users, they can be included in the analysis and spec documents. But if the language of these documents is not English then the use case documents should also be in the local language (like in my case it's Hungarian). This means that these UseCase diagrams have to be doubled (one in English and one in the local language) and that additional, otherwise unused elements appear in the model. I know it's probably a minor issue, but still it would be quite practical.
2008.3.16 It is the best and more practical software in the subject of the usability. Even though don't have a lot of knowledge of UML, they can use this software very easily.
2008.2.20 I use the version 3.2.1 and I have many problems when I try to delete many classes or many diagrams at the same time. What I wanted to delete were still there after deleting.
Answer: Try [Ctrl + D] key to delete models. For mode details, see the TIPS on JUDE Community Site.
2008.2.17 JUDE is a very good tool indeed. It would be interesting if it supports to the .NET languages too.
2008.2.15 I think the download with the J.R.E is great because that way, does without it can get it while downloading. You guys are great! Keep it up and don't you stop!
2008.2.14 I don't know if it is already available with this last release, but it will be a great stuff to have a way to easily copy and paste diagrams on OpenOffice (in Linux platform). A metafile export of diagrams will be also a good thing, to save space in bigger documentations.
2008.2.14 Really needs to be able to reverse engineer classes from jar files.
2008.2.14 JUDE is amazing! you guys have done(and keep doing) an awesome job.
2008.2.9 unsatisfaction I'm a Linux user and I can't print in Ubuntu 7.10. Investigating the problem, I concluded that it is something related to CUPS (the most recent version). I wrote a simple Java test program to print "hello world" and it works (no problems for printing Java based programs).
2008.2.7 Focusing on the object automatically by clicking/double clicking on them.
2008.2.5 It is easy and fast to learn and simple enough without overwhelming complexity.
2008.2.4 Very good. I like and also my students. I use JUDE to teach UML in a school in Portugal.
2008.2.1 Great that I can use it for free as I mainly needed to start using any tool and I'm glad I can start with this one.
2008.1.20 Your publicity is not satisfactory, I recommend you to distribute community vesion with a book, so it will gain a good reputation quickly among community. Contact Universities in 3rd world if you can.
2008.1.12 Please input the tool to convert Mind Map, UML and ER to the free version of JUDE.
2008.1.11 Step up marketing. Very few people know about this tool in Europe. Start by providing screencasts or example usage videos. Something like "Design a Web Application with JUDE in 5 Minutes"
2008.1.10 Great tool, nice to have it cross-platform!
2008.1.8 This product is great. It helps you to communicate with the rest of the team in a visual way and is extremely easy to use and get going fast.
